“Men are not prisoners of fate but only prisoners of their own minds” – Franklin. D. Roosevelt

IMAGE MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONALS ASSOCIATION (IMPA), Delhi Chapter, has taken an initiative to bring about a gradual and positive change in the lives of the prisoners at Distt. Jail, Jhajjar. IMPA Consultants aim to counsel and mentor the prisoners on their strengths and weaknesses. They are committed to serving the Society and reaching out to socially weaker sections for building up their confidence.

A similar workshop was conducted by Ms. Anshu Gupta, President- Delhi Chapter and Ms. Ameeta Nehra, Secretary- Delhi Chapter, for the inmates of Jhajjar Jail. The primary focus of the workshop was on the importance of First Impression, Grooming and Body language.

Through their regular sessions, the Image Consultants are reinforcing the concept of positive attitude, progressive approach and a balanced mind. The hardest prison to escape is in one’s mind. Regular sessions will boost up the inmates’ confidence and help them reconstruct their life after getting released from prison.

In the session held on 4th March 2016, Justice Gurmit Singh Sandhawalia had visited Jhajjar Jail and spoke about the learnings in the workshops, which came as an eye-opener for everyone present there.

Quoting Nelson Mandela, “Prison itself is a tremendous education in the need of patience and perseverance”.
