The Clothes for Smile initiative conducted by IMPA across two areas in Mumbai – Andheri, and South Bombay.
Andheri:
The day began with Suunil Kini, Devanshi Gandhi, Jainee Gandhi and Manisha Jain pitching in to co-ordinate the line-up of clothes coming in.Manisha Jain surprised all with her initiative both in getting clothes and also going all out to boost our enthusiasm. The trickle of clothes became a wave with the entry of Shilpa Khushalani who got in bagful of clothes some of which were good enough as new and caught the eyes of all. The Image Consultants also got an opportunity to give their take on IMPA and on this initiative which will have long reaching benefits to economically challenged stratas of the society. The activity was all filled not only with enthusiasm but with a passionate purpose of giving it the best shot in making this initiative a reason for everyone to SMILE. In the second half, we had a new set of volunteers stepping in: Hina Page, Gauri Gupta, and Kavita Kapoor.
At the end of the day many clothes were collected for Clothes for a Smile.
South Bombay:
At the SoBo center, the volunteers were Mamta Deval, Zohra Chitalwala, Kadambari Deodhar, and Benaisha Kharas. A lot of clothes and accessories were collected through the day.
A representative from Lok Seva Sangh came at the end of day to collect the clothes. He said that LSS will be handing over the clothes to residents in Govandi. and we can capture the hand over.
