On June 5th 2014 celebrating “The World Environment Day”, the IMPA Kolkata chapter conducted a session for 50 Nursing students from ‘Astha Foundation’, an NGO based in Kolkata. Topics covered were: Basic grooming and hygiene, importance of body language, and environment awareness
We started the Workshop by giving an introduction about IMPA and also speaking about the basic nuances of image and its importance. This was followed by a 1.5 hours long session on basic hygiene, grooming and importance of cleanliness and how it affects the environment. This was followed by a short discussion on importance of body language. Live demos were conducted on the correct body postures. Under environment awareness we spoke on the importance of environment, types of pollution and remedial measures.
The students liked these topics and asked apt questions showing their keenness to learn and implement the same. It was a great experience and a wonderful opportunity for the facilitators too, to give back to the society.
